When I think of my favorite Christmas memories as a child, one of the first that comes to mind is of the warmth of the fireplace and big blanket wrapped around the christmas pj’s adorning me as I read many of my favorite Christmas books by the light of the Christmas tree. Reading plays a big part in the Christmas spirit coming alive for young children and families alike as they become part of the stories they read. These 17 must have Christmas books were all on my Christmas bookshelf growing up and hold many special memories for me. 5. I’ll Be Home For Christmas (A Toot and Puddle Story) By Holly Hobbie
The day I discovered Toot and Puddle is the day I discovered some of my all-time favorite books. The illustrations in this book are absolutely stunning and the many stories of Toot and Puddle (including I’ll Be Home For Christmas)Â are sure to be a children’s favorite. They are funny, inspiring, feel-good stories about pig brothers who have all kinds of adventures together. This Christmas classic features Toot going away to a family reunion in Scotland, but promising Puddle he will make it back to Woodpocket in time for Christmas. Eloise will capture your heart in Eloise At Christmastime.Â
