The #1 BEST Gift You Could Ever Receive This Christmas

Christmas; just the word makes me go crazy with excitement. I’ll admit it, I’m ~~a bit~~ a lot over the top when it comes to Christmas. I LOVE IT! It brings me so much JOY and excitement and makes an otherwise drab time of the year the BEST! However, the joy I get from Christmas isn’t just because of the decorations, the beautiful twinkling lights, the delicious aroma pouring from the kitchen, or even from the presents you give and receive from family and friends.

No, the joy that Christmas brings comes from something a whole lot more important than any of that stuff. In fact, it comes from something that I can’t even see.

Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus; not the Nutcracker, yummy food, or even getting someone the perfect gift. There is absolutely nothing wrong with all of those things, in fact I take part in ALL OF IT. But it’s when those things take greater value in our hearts than the true meaning of Christmas that we are robbed of the greatest joy we could ever receive. Joy that is everlasting because Jesus is everlasting and will never leave us when we invite Him into our lives and make Him Lord of our life daily.

The best Christmas gift you could EVER receive is the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Salvation would not be possible if God hadn’t sent His son to us as a baby so that when the time came He could die on the cross to save us from our sins. I’m humbled beyond words, my heart is full of gratitude, and most of all I REJOICE knowing I get to spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus because He loves me (and YOU) enough to make a way to spend eternity with His beloved people.

If you have never accepted this gift, it’s never too late. The Bible says that “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” -Romans 3:23. We all are in need of a Savior, not one of us is good enough to make it to Heaven through our own good works. We can’t bring sin into Heaven, so Jesus came down to us in order to die on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He took our sins for us so we could be washed white as snow. All we have to do is accept that we are not good enough on our own and we are in need of our Savior, Jesus, to wash away our sins. Once you admit your need for God and ask Him to be the Lord of your life, you are saved!

You don’t need to do anything else in order to be saved. That’s why it’s a gift. We do nothing to earn it. And now that you understand the depth of God’s love for you, your life will be forever changed. We live for Jesus not because it earns us a ticket into Heaven, but because we love Him so much we desire to serve Him, worship Him, and make His name known so others can know God’s love as well.
